My latest works were inspired by images of micro-organisms of viruses and blood cells.. The aesthetical appeal of these organisms with their unusual abstract shapes and fluorescent colours looking like ready-made pictures when viewed under a microscope. The volatile nature of these living organisms having the ability to morph and spread out into the surrounding space they inhabit where boundaries are unable to contain and control them

`Virus 1` was the first composition I created in this series of works which formed the foundation and stepping stone for the development of `Virus 2`, `Virus 3` and `Virus 4`. The creation of these `hung paintings ` with their sculptural protrusions symbolising viruses as cells spreading out into the surrounding space the boundaries of the frame unable to contain them. Despite the symbolic nature of these pieces of work they have pushed the boundaries of painting challenging the division between painting and sculpture. They have mutated becoming ` hybrids` of both.
